Defective Zimmer Knee Replacements
The Schwaba Law Firm represents individuals harmed by the implantation of defective Zimmer Knee Implants. Patients have discovered that the Zimmer Nex-Gen Knee may be subject to loosening at the tibial and femoral base plates. Zimmer has not recalled Nex-Gen CR Flex System or components; The company has recalled certain lots of the Zimmer Nex-Gen LPS Flex Gender product. The recall included the components for Zimmer Nex-Gen LPS Femoral Component and Zimmer Nex-Gen LPS Flex Gender Femoral Component. The components in the recall were due to these components having a non-conforming internal CAM radius (nonconforming geometry).
Many Nex-Gen implants have been associated with unexplained pain after knee replacement and many have required revision surgery. If you have experienced pain from a Zimmer knee replacement, you may want to ask your doctor for a bone scan, rather than the normal X-ray. A bone scan will reveal radiolucency that reveals loosening between the bone and the defective knee replacement, where new bone is grown to fill the gap between the replacement and the existing bone.
Lawsuits for Zimmer Nex-Gen knee replacement products have been filed around the country and have been consolidated in the Northern District of Illinois. The lawsuits claim that the knee replacement manufacturers had defectively designed and manufactured the devices, failed to warn patients and doctors of the device’s failure and other complications, negligence in the design, formulation, testing and manufacture of the knee replacement, negligent misrepresentation and breach of warranty.
