Schwaba Law Firm is investigating and filing claims related to the Allergan Naturelle Breast Implants. Allergan Natrelle implants were recalled by the FDA in 2019 due to their link to a form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma known as breast-implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma). The claims have been consolidated in a multi-district litigation case in the United States Federal District Court of New Jersey.

Allergan is a corporation with headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, with principal offices in the United States in New Jersey. Allergan is a leading breast implant manufacturer, collecting approximately $400 million in revenue in breast implants alone in 2017.

Allergan Natrelle Breast Implants received pre-market approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013, but required Allergan to perform post-approval studies and post-approval adverse events. Allergan is alleged to have not fully complied with the FDA requirements, failing to properly monitor adverse events of the Allergan Natrelle Breast Implants, including failing to advise the FDA, surgeons, physicians and patients that Allergan Natrelle implants were associated with an increased risk of patients developing ALCL (Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma) and BIA-ALCL (Breast Implant Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma) cancer. These risks were not disclosed in the product labeling, product brochures, product inserts or product literature distributed to surgeons and patients. The FDA issued a recall of all Allergan Natrelle Breast Implants, including the silicone and saline versions of Allergan Natrelle Biocell and the silicone model of Inspira, including the tissue expanders for the implants.

BIA-ALCL is a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma that may develop following the implantation of breast implants, characterized by the most common symptom of swollen breasts. The link between ALCL and breast implants has been recognized by 2011. The FDA recognized the correlation between ALCL and breast implants, acknowledging that breast implants with textured surfaces, like the Allergan Natrelle implants, was particularly concerning.
